The Perdicaris forest, or Rmilat forest, is spread over more than 50 hectares and constitutes a real botanical park. More than a hundred native and exotic species are there thus identified. The site also offers breathtaking views of the Strait of Gibraltar. Located 4 km from the center of Tangier, the site owes its name to Ion Perdicaris, a rich American of Greek origin who acquired this estate in 1887 so that his wife, suffering of tuberculosis, can enjoy the outdoors. Today the estate is open to the public and every day hundreds of people enjoy the tranquility of the place.
